Structured Distance Learning Approach
Languesdoc elaborates a personalized training path for each company. We take ample time before starting the training sessions. We study the needs, the prior knowledge, the students’ profiles and the contents of the pedagogic strategies to be observed.
Distance learning or e-learning is becoming increasingly an integrated part of such a path; for some target groups, it is even becoming inevitable. Two examples:
- The level of one single participant is somewhat below the other participants’ level. He/she may slow down the course dynamics. Preparatory e-learning may help the participant to catch up so that the group is able to start on a more homogeneous basis.
- Sales representatives are a ‘breed apart’. They are hard to reach and it is often not feasible to organise group courses at head office or at a regional office.
Languesdoc keeps a close track on developments in trade and industry. Our learning paths give due consideration to the demands for cost management, ever increasing flexibility and a reduction in the number of training hours. Customers ask for improved training requiring less time. This is what our unique concept is aimed at.
Our strategy is three- C-based:
- COMMUNICATION
- COMPETITION
- CONTENT
At the completion of the preliminary study, one of the Cs becomes the starting point for the proposed training. A brief example of each C is given below.
Communication
study: a low level, one year path
- a 30 hour path, consolidated through 15 hours of e-learning (computer to computer, …)
- when the training takes place in the first semester, the foundation has been provided for the autumn
- status report after the first part
- after the project has been completed, extensive feedback is given for the training manager’s benefit
Competence
study: accountant (good average level) working for an American company, and having to consolidate his figures in English
- a 20 hour path based on professional reporting
- pre-study of own correspondence
- contents mainly consist of quick reading of technical documents and drawing up accounting reports
Content
study: administrator (good average level) in a private bank changes profile and starts working as an account officer
- one day training (possibly 2 days)
- goal: acquiring, and being able to actively use a new lexicon in a short period of time
Languesdoc has the know-how required to perfectly integrate e-learning into a training strategy in all circumstances .
Regular international contacts with expert authorities allow us to refine distance learning even more.
